Samsung has a sales network worldwide and around 290,000 employees working for it. Moreover, the company ranked second highest technology company in 2019. Plus, the market capitalization for Samsung was US$520.65 billion.

History

Samsung Electronics was established on January 19 1969. It was under the industrial part of the Samsung Group. This company was a leading trading company in South Korea in the production of fertilizers and sweeteners. Toshie Lue, the founder of Sanyo, worked as an advisor in the electronics business. Also, Samsung Electric joined with the Sanyo and Sumitomo Corporation and made a Samsung Sanyo Electric. 

Later, this company started manufacturing different types of electric appliances like television, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines and calculators. In the year 1981, the ventured company produced around 10 million black and white televisions. Then, it acquired Korean Semiconductor. 

During the 1980s and 1990s, Samsung sold its personal computers. In 1996, Lee Kun-Hee, the CEO of the company, announced the year of design revolution. Also, he said that he wants to take the company to a high level and make it a global brand design leader. Later, in the 1990s, this company developed an excellent and award-winning design portfolio.

Moreover, Samsung introduced an 8GB NAND flash memory chip and signed a manufacturing deal with Apple in 2015. Plus, the company also contributed to the manufacturing of A7 processors in the iPhone 5S model. Then, the company got a revenue of US$1174.4 billion in 2009 and soon became a big technology company in sales. Later, in 2013, Samsung introduced a new S series of Samsung smartphones. The Samsung company received record-breaking achievements in the same year through the low-priced handsets in the market in big countries like India and China.

In the year 2014, Samsung collaborated with Amazon to produce a Kindle application for 
Samsung phones. Later, in 2016, Samsung decided to acquire a cloud computing company. In the same year, Samsung announced the acquisition of Harman International Industries (an American automotive equipment manufacturer) for $ 8 billion. This deal took place in March 2017. In 2022, Samsung’s company had a total asset of about ₩ 448.4 trillion.
