Webmail IMAP and POP Settings


If you’re getting IMAP and POP setting issues in your Webmail email account, you might be experiencing problems while sending or receiving emails and syncing data with your device. Solution 1: Review Your Webmail Account’s IMAP and POP Settings

The primary step to solve the protocol error in your account is to check all the IMAP and POP-related settings. 

 

  1. In the first step, open your email client and move on to the Account Settings. 

  2. Then, ensure that you select the correct account type. 

  3. Now, enter the correct incoming and outgoing email server settings for Webmail. 

  4. After that, enter your email account’s username and password. 

  5. Next, save the changes and restart your email client to check the connection. 

  6. You should contact your Webmail provider for more assistance if the issue isn’t resolved. 

 

Solution 2: Enable SSL Authentication in Your Webmail Account

Enabling the SSL verification in your email account can fix the server-related issues. Check out the steps to do that. 

 

  1. Go to your email account and head to the Options menu. 

  2. Then, select the Accounts option under the Mail Settings. 

  3. Now, choose your account option and hit the Edit option. 

  4. Afterward, go to your incoming mail server tab and check the box next to Use SSL. 

  5. Repeat the same process under the outgoing mail server tab. 

  6. In the next step, close the Settings menu once you save all the necessary changes. 

  7. As the last step, type your account information on the Webmail sign-in page. 

 

Solution 3: Turn off the Third-Party Antivirus Software or Firewall Program

Sometimes, your third-party antivirus software or the firewall program might cause IMAP and POP-related issues. Turning them off would be the best solution. 

 

  1. On your computer, go to the Start menu. 

  2. Then, navigate to the Control Panel. 

  3. Now, choose the System and Security option. 

  4. After that, pick the Windows Firewall option. 

  5. In the next step, hit an option to turn off the Windows firewall program. 

  6. Also, tap the OK button and launch the antivirus program on your computer. 

  7. Then, choose an option to turn the software off. 

  8. At last, launch your email program and check its function.
