If the problem continues, you can contact Apple Support for help.

Causes

  • Email forwarding is turned on.
  • Poor internet connection
  • Mail rules for deleting emails
  • A junk folder mistakenly marks emails as junk
  • Mail is not turned on in iCloud settings
  • Push notifications are turned off or not working
  • Device settings issues
  • Full storage space
  • Account blocked

Solution 1: Verify that you turned on Mail in Settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. First of all, open the Settings tab on your device.
  2. Then, scroll down and tap on Mail or Passwords & Accounts.
  3. After that, you have to tap on your iCloud account.
  4. Now, ensure the toggle switch next to Mail is turned on and green.
  5. If it was off, turn it on and try checking your email again.

Solution 2: Ensure that new data is pushed to your device automatically

  1. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod device, go to Settings.
  2. After that, select the Mail option.
  3. Then, you need to click on Accounts.
  4. Next, click on Fetch New Data.
  5. Now, make sure Push is turned on.
  6. If Push is turned off, select it and select Automatically.
  7. Confirm that your iCloud account is listed under Fetch.
  8. If it's not listed, tap on Add Account.
  9. Follow the on-screen steps to add your iCloud account.
  10. Lastly, exit the settings menu and test to see if you can receive email.

Solution 3: Test Push by sending an email to your account

  1. Open the email application on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod device.
  2. Then, compose a new email and send it to your iCloud email address.
  3. Wait for a few minutes and check if the email arrives automatically in your inbox without any manual refresh.
  4. If the email arrives automatically, then the Push feature is working fine.
  5. If the email doesn't arrive automatically, try troubleshooting the Push feature by checking your internet connection or restarting your device.

Solution 4: Turn off and back on your device

  1. To get started, tap and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
  2. After that, drag the slider to turn your device off.
  3. After a few seconds, click and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until the Apple logo appears.
  4. In the next step, wait for your device to restart.
  5. Now, check if you can receive emails on your device.
